Foundations of Ashtanga
With Gepina Friday, Aug. 30. 5:30-7:30pm $25
Please join us for a summer evening of exploring the Foundations of Ashtanga Yoga with Gepina. This is a wonderful class for all healthy levels desiring traditional alignment awareness + breathing techniques.
We will begin with a simple introduction to this lineage and it's philosophy. We will practice and discuss pranayama techniques used in Ashtanga. We will then move through a series of standing postures and Sun Salutations in the Ashtanga style. Come prepared to get warm and juicy!
There will be an emphasis on meditation and rest at the end of our class.
Gepina has practiced Ashtanga for over a decade and studied with teachers who were trained and certified under Pathabi Jois: Tim Miller, David Swenson and Kathy Cooper. Her experience of a decade long practice has given her a sweet understanding of how practice evolves through life circumstance.
Gepina helps you learn to meet your body and practice where you are in your life for a more sustainable, enjoyable, and yet still effective life practice.
Having gone through pregnancy and birth in the last 3 years, her teaching style has evolved to something deeper, slower, gentler~ while still maintaining intense focus on the foundations and structure of posture, breath and meditation; the three pillars of a successful practice.
Practicing just a sip of Ashtanga everyday can keep you in and on the path of health, longevity and the capacity to nurture change in your own life.

The Gong Bath is a timeless sacred offering to incite transformation healing, and the blessings of Divine intervention. The powerful sound vibrations tune and raise our energetic signature and conscious awareness. The busy mind cannot resist the sound of the Gong and quiets, as we take a deep dip into Gong's therapeutic harmonics.
Saha guides us in a gentle Kundalini Yoga warm up and Pranayama (breathing exercises) to prepare for the healing harmonics of the Gong Bath Meditation. The mantra for this meditation is the sound of the gong. As you listen to the gong's sound, it will penetrate every cell and fiber of your body; emotions and thoughts are provoked from the subconscious and the entire nervous system adjusts and balances to heal. As the sound builds, totally relax in the deepest meditation possible. Surrender the mind and body. The sound will carry you beyond all fears to feel rejuvenated, grounded, mindful and radiant!
Be prepared for a restorative experience! Bring any of your favorite meditation blankets/pillows/eye pillows~ but know that you can also borrow any of our props that you might love for a sublime experience.
